After the tragic passing of a Young Farmers Club member in 2022 Vale O’ Lune YFC embarked on a mission to raise money for the Farming Community Network and raise awareness of the support available from them to the farming community. As part of this fundraising campaign they decided to carry a 90kg log up the third highest mountain in England, upon completion they had raised over £6,500!
Two years later on Sunday 22nd September 2024 members of Vale O’ Lune Young Farmers club including our recently graduated mechanics Will and Tom once again set out to raise money for this exceptional charity carrying an even heavier log from Bolton le Sands 36km to The Stork at Condor Green. This 36km route was chosen to represent the average of 36 suicides per year of people in agriculture and it’s related industries and with the generous support of local people and businesses were able to raise well over the original target of £2000.
Well done to all involved!
