What is it?
LOLER stands for Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998, LOLER regulations cover all aspects of lifting equipment safety.
Why do you need it?
15 people were killed in accidents relating to lifting equipment between 2014 and 2021. LOLER regs are aimed at reducing that number to 0 through proper assessing, planning, and preparation.
What do I need to stay compliant?
All lifting operations must be planned by competent people, using appropriate equipment, and performed in a safe and careful manner with supervision. Equipment should be tested, every six months if lifting people and every 12 months if lifting goods. However, these may be altered either way if deemed appropriate for it’s intended role by a competent person.
Who can test my machines?
